Life is full of surprises and twists and turns. Some are challenging, some are exhilarating and some are life-altering. But one thing we can do to flow with the changes is to make our haven grow and change with us. Your home wants to hug you…. so set your home up for success to do so. Really think about what will work for you in a new chapter of life and make it happen. While my mind never stops and there are always projects to be dreamt up, this past year I had a big event happen that forced me to stay home for a few weeks. Some of you will remember I had an unfortunate accident in Costa Rica and ended up with a punctured lung and broken ribs. Not the way to celebrate your 25th wedding anniversary I can assure you! This unexpected stay at home turned into a complete overhaul of my downstairs. Do I wish I could sit around and eat bon-bons and not dream up ways to haul heavy furniture from room to room? To be honest, no, not really because it is the best medicine in the world! So, I stayed home, analyzed rooms and thought of ways to make our rooms more family-friendly. At long last, I am actually sitting and so happy to be able to share with you the Tour of Gardens that we were fortunate to be a part of in our beautiful hometown. I say at long last because I do not think I actually sat down for the weeks leading up to the Tour and then I was forced to catch up with realities after such a long escape into our gardens.
